YASANA Pavilion
PROJECTS

Introduction to Our Project
'Yasana Pavilion' is a homestore and Thai-Lao hangout game on Roblox that we (Andarsia and dlsqchu) are working on to release. It was originally made for the Yasana Roblox clothing group as a place for group members to look through an organized clothing catalog, but since we went quite overboard with the map size, we decided that it will also simultaneously be a hangout game and a showcase game, all while selling group clothes to raise funds.
The Inspiration Behind the Project
Since the YASANA community caters to Thai and Lao roblox communities, our inspiration stemmed from the beauty of temples from that region, known for their intricate designs and elaborate decorations. Temples like Wat Phra Kaew, Phra That Luang and the Khmer Royal Palace served as a reference point, allowing us to capture cultural aesthetics while incorporating our own unique fantasy elements.
Challenges Faced and Solutions Implemented
As with any creative project, we encountered several challenges throughout the modeling process. One of the significant hurdles was reducing lag to optimize a smooth user experience. Since it is more convenient to build parts within roblox rather than converting every part to mesh form, most of the build was structured upon unions, which consequently leads to increased lag and a higher triangle count. We are actively working to reduce the union count and convert most of the build to mesh form.
Final Thoughts and Future Directions
Working on our 3D model of YASANA pavilion has been a rewarding experience. Through this project, we've learned the value of collaboration, dedication, and cultural appreciation in art creation and have learned from our challenges. As we look ahead, we plan to incorporate more meshes in our roblox builds and better organize the process so that we can yield our best creative projects.
