Introduction to Gyeongbokgung Palace
Gyeongbokgung Palace, located in the heart of Seoul, South Korea, is a historic site and cultural symbol of the nation’s cultural heritage. Originally constructed in 1395, this complex served as the main royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty.
The Inspiration Behind My Roblox Project
I originally aimed to challenge myself with the architecture of East Asian palace complexes. Although I didn't make it to building the entire palace, I learned a great amount of detail and had to make decals and textures for almost every single pattern and design that I saw painted on the walls.
Challenges and Triumphs in Building on Roblox
Creating the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Roblox came with its own set of challenges. The first hurdle was accurately capturing the scale and textures within the confines of a virtual world. Additionally, the technical aspects of building within the Roblox platform posed difficulties, including the limitations of available building materials and design tools. Despite these obstacles, I found the process rewarding.
